PRESENTATION
Grande Fine Champagne cognacs
Exclusively from the Grande Champagne, Cognac's Premier Cru, they enjoy the prestigious Grande Fine Champagne appellation, reserved for the finest and noblest brandy.
Cognacs from the estate
All the cognacs are exclusively from the family properties located in Grande Champagne. At the present time, these estates represent around 80 hectares of vines in production, thus a large potential. Cognac stocks are more than 1,500 hectolitres of pure alcohol (i.e. the equivalent of more than a half million bottles) and are divided among several ageing cellars on the family estates.
Quality cognacs
With the assurance of the best care given by the Ménard family, through personal and on-going control at every stage (vineyard culture, harvest, distillation, aging and bottling), Ménard is able to guarantee authentic cognacs, of a grande and consistent quality, made in the purest tradition.
DIFFERENT QUALITIES
1- Estate selection (40°)
This quality of cognac corresponds to the top-of-the-range of the "three star" cognacs. The aroma is delicate and light, very floral, with a light taste of vanilla.
2- VSOP (40°)
Very Special Old Pale. Elegant, lightly spiced, fresh and floral cognac with a good light taste of "rancio" (type of maderization). Good length in the mouth for this quality.
3- Napoléon or Réserve Extra (40°)
Well-rounded, mellow, very fine with a balanced "rancio".
4- X.O. (42°)
In the hors d'âge category, cognac with a lovely amber colour, with golden reflections, pronounced rancio, with a great aromatic variety.
5- Ancestrale (45°)
The cognac of "connoisseurs", powerful attack due to its degree of alcohol (45°), lovely amber colour, intense rancio, inimitable, exceptional length in the mouth. A curiosity.
